A stem of lilacs.

I think I've been superficial in this blog. I think I've been attempting to portray myself in a way I might want you to see, by being mystical and vague. Be impressed?

This is a real moment I'm having. Look at that space there that I made between that and this. Why did I do that? It was a show.

I drove home with a stem of lilacs, that I picked from a lilac bush in the Culver's parking lot, between my thumb and forefinger. I was smelling it. Brushing it back and forth underneat my nose. Smelling it's power and it's purple. It's purpose. (I was going to type "purpose" instead of "purple" there so I decided it needed to be put in right after.)

Ah, The Knife. Ah, the knife.

I'm dancing for dollars for a fancy man.
Fancy man, Fancy man.
I'm dancing for dollars for a fancy man.

The screen behing this turned purple with the music. Track 3. Unknown artist.

I'm still twirling the lilac stem between my thumb and forefinger and smelling it as it brushes...

And it's so powerful.

  1. Sorry it took me so long to comment.

I posted a response to some degree in my blog about the superficial part. It just seemed easier at the time.

I can't blame you for the Lilacs though, they're beautiful & their fragrance is a testament to this.

I'll most like end up planting flowers out here some time soon. I'm not sure what just yet, but this place needs more color. I'm laughing at myself now, because this is all so not "macho". I can't help it though, I like working with my hands, it gives me a sense of purpose & completion in something that I've done.

I hope your birthday went well. Sorry I wasn't able to make it out.
